MasterScanner Software Shifts to Subscription Service with version 4.0
Dear valued customers of IAC Geometrische Ingenieurs B.V.,
We are thrilled to announce a major update for MasterScanner software! For the past 25 years, IAC has proudly offered free software updates to all MasterScanner users, ensuring you always have the latest and best tools at your disposal.
In line with the latest European cybersecurity requirements (the Cyber Resilience Act), adopted by the European Parliament in March this year, IAC is committed to continuously enhancing and updating our software. Since 2008, we have relied on Linux to provide high-quality software products with comprehensive security updates. Once the law is in effect, you can find more information about the amendments to the Cyber Resilience Act on our website (www.iac-instruments.com).
To keep our software cutting-edge and future-proof, we need to invest in ongoing maintenance. This investment supports new Linux versions, hardware advancements, and developments in thread calibration. Thanks to our maintenance efforts, even the oldest MasterScanners remain up-to-date and valuable.
Looking Ahead:
On July 15, 2024, we will release Linux Mint 21 for the MasterScanner and version 4.5 for the MasterScanners XP series, including:

- MasterScanner XP 6060
- MasterScanner XP 10025
- MasterScanner XP 10060
- MasterScanner XP 16060
** XPL-C & XPL release is scheduled on a later date.
To ensure the highest quality for the MasterScanner software, the new software package will be available as a paid option starting July 2024.

The new software edition can be purchased as a separate module or in combination with maintenance.
A software package with standard updates is valid for one year (365 days) from the date of purchase*.
After the paid software edition period ends, the MasterScanner will continue to function normally, though no further updates will be available to be activated by a license key .
Pricing
The new MasterScanner XP software edition as a separate module costs €499 per year, per MasterScanner.
We offer attractive volume discounts:
- Purchase 3 to 5 software licenses and receive a 15% discount per edition.
- Purchase more than 5 software licenses and receive a 20% discount per edition.
For installation by our measurement technician, the one-off cost is €349 per MasterScanner, which includes labor and a new SSD.

For New Machines:
New machines come with the current year's software edition plus one additional year free of charge. For example, a new machine delivered in August 2024 will have free software updates until December 2025. After this period, a new software edition can be purchased starting January 1.
Delivery and Payment:
The software can be purchased through various options, with additional online payment methods available soon. Standard bank transfers remain available.
